I've spent two decades preparing for this — leading digital teams at Forbes.com and NHL.com, and helping the United Nations deliver Umoja, one of the largest technology transformations in public-sector history. I saw that distributed teams could run the world's biggest institutions. The missing piece was never the people. It was the systems. So I'm building them.
